For Toronto families requiring support and help with breastfeeding, there are a number of organizations and professionals available to help.

Private Lactation Consultant Services
Most lactation consultants in private practice charge $100-$150 per visit.
Some extended health insurance plans provide coverage for these services.
Appointments can often be arranged at mother’s home, or even post-partum in the hospital.
Fully trained lactation consultants have the IBCLC designation (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) whose license is govern by the International Lactation Consultant Association.
